TTS: The CH_Umbrail ride from alucard came with a tts. I remember a few programs like RLV Cockpit, RLV Studio, and Tacx Run Copy, but they are all very old. There was quite a bit around for the non-encrypted PGMF and RLV control files used for the old Fortius program, which only worked with a 32-bit OS. I do not recall very much in the way of TTS tools as the TTS control files are encrypted. $7/month sounds like a pretty great deal for the few months that I'd use it per year. I don't know if I could say no to 4k video of that gorgeous climb. Is difficult to imagine that I'd ever pay to be Tacx' customer after what they just pulled on you all. I'm frankly surprised they did it because it is so hard to win back customers after they get all butt-hurt. Who does that? Bankrupt game studios? It is pretty much the disaster that everyone speculates will happen with closed eco-systems.

Screwing with encryption is already hateful and bad from my perspective, but then they actually turned off the license servers. And now browsing the forum it looks like the new tacx subsidiary of garmin isn't good to their customers. I try hard to not be a subscription person. I bet there's some friction between them and management. Very professional looking ui, some dedicated people put some good thought into it and I suspect they know they nailed it. If that team isn't being appreciated then I feel bad for them.

I don't own a tacx trainer so can't use that software but I know good when I see it. While you could get away with just a speed sensor and riding based on RPE, an inexpensive heart rate monitor will give you useful insight into your fitness.You should tell Tacx, I think they are unaware how much this Desktop App is actually liked. While all Wahoo SYSTM workouts also have heart rate and rate of perceived exertion (RPE) targets, at a bare minimum, we’d recommend you ride with a wheel speed sensor and a heart rate monitor. The data won’t be as accurate as with a real power meter or smart trainer, however. If you don’t have a power meter, SYSTM can calculate virtual power on most non-smart turbo trainers, if you pair a wheel speed sensor with the app. If you don’t have a smart trainer, a ‘dumb’ trainer paired with a heart rate monitor, a power meter, a wheel speed sensor and a cadence sensor will also suffice.
Wahoo has an online tool to check device compatibility if you want to be sure. Alternatively, you can get an ANT+ USB dongle and use that.

If your measurement device is Bluetooth compatible, you should be able to connect it to your computer, tablet or smartphone via that. If you don’t have a Wahoo device, most ANT+ or Bluetooth-compatible smart trainers will also work. If you don’t have a smart trainer, a power meter or heart rate monitor will also help you get started. What equipment do I need to use Wahoo SYSTM? After that, a Wahoo SYSTM subscription costs $14.99 per month, or $129.99 per year.

Wahoo SYSTM uses the brand’s own Four Dimensional Power (4DP) profile (a more sophisticated version of Functional Threshold Power, which has more in common with Critical Power), to create plans and workouts bespoke to an individual’s fitness that address their strengths and weaknesses. Or, you can pick and choose workouts as you go along. Instead of creating a virtual world in the vein of Zwift and RGT Cycling, Wahoo SYSTM makes you a training schedule from a plethora of workouts and content, and then helps you complete it.
